From 2011 to 2013, while serving at York City Council and studying International Relations and Politics at the University of York, Viktoriia Startseva – now CEO – led a heartfelt initiative to support Ukrainian labour migrants in the UK. Her project focused on helping them adapt to life in Britain and find their professional footing in a new and often challenging environment.
In 2018, her dedication to social impact was recognised nationally when she became a finalist and Ambassador of the Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation. This honour took her to Austria, where she immersed herself in learning the best practices of public and cultural diplomacy, as well as forward-thinking women’s empowerment strategies developed in partnership with government institutions and corporate leaders. Her mission was clear: to bring these transformative ideas home to Ukraine.
When the full-scale Russian invasion began in February 2022, this experience, passion, and deep sense of responsibility culminated in the creation of the Ukraine Eurointegration Platform. This initiative was born out of urgency and love — a lifeline for forcibly displaced Ukrainian women, children, and youth. Today, the platform stands as a powerful bridge of hope and support, helping those uprooted by war find safety, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose in a new land.
